Shock!!!

We got a really strange phone call a few weeks ago. It was from an executive secretary in another stake. He set up an appointment for us to go see the stake president in that stake. When we got there we found out that Calvin was being called to be the 2nd counselor in the Bishopric of the singles ward. We both will be released from all of our ward callings ( I do get to finish out the stake camp director calling) and we will be attending the 24th ward in the Tooele Stake for the next 3 years. Calvin was put in last week and we went to our new stakes conference today. We are really excited to get to have this calling. These young single adults seem to be just awesome. We will be attending family home evenings, Relief society nights, and all other activities they have every week. It should be very busy, but I think it will be great for us. The wives of the new Bishopric have our first big assignment this next Sunday. We are going to be cooking dinner for a "Linger Longer" after the block of meetings. We should be feeding between 50 and 80 people a full meal with dessert. I hope it goes o.k.
I think the moral of this story is to not get too comfortable in your WARD, because you never know what Heavenly Father is going to throw your way.
